Pandemic Live

Gnatwork Director Dr Simon Carpenter from The Pirbright Institute took part in Pandemic Live at The Cheltenham Science Festival: a fast-paced panel discussion on the possible impacts of a deadly new virus hitting British farms. Alongside virologist Pip Beard, biodefence expert Richard Hatchett and mathematician Hannah Fry, an audience were guided through this rapidly-changing outbreak scenario, via a series of different control options. The panel provided their expertise on fighting outbreaks in the field and the likely outcome of the pandemic.
