Dr Jess Stokes

Dr Jess Stokes has spent the last 8 years studying Culicoides biting midges and the diseases they transmit. She completed her PhD at the University of Liverpool studying the epidemiology and surveillance of Culicoides-borne diseases of ruminants. Since 2017 she has been a member of Dr Simon Carpenters Entomology Group at the Pirbright Institute working on Defra grants exploring the overwintering, emergence and age-grading of Culicoides, alongside disease transmission studies. Dr Stokes is an active member of the community and has been an avid supporter of the Gnatwork since the beginning of the network.
